MIKASA SILK Q & A
Value of Mikasa Misprinted Plate?

Hi!

Clearing out the estate of of my in-laws and came across a Mikasa Fine Bone China Plate. The print on the bottom inidcates that it is “white silk” A7050, however when I went online, I found that Mikasa “White Silk” pattern A7050 looks nothing like this plate. The A7050 pattern has no color and a muted design, but my plate had pink roses on it. Could this be a misprint by Mikasa? If so, how could I found out its worth? Thanks in advance

If you had a truly fine china plate that might make it worth something, but Mikasa is not fine china. You can certainly call a local appraiser (they’re listed in the Yellow Pages under “Appraisers”) or a local art museum to find an appraiser to double check, but again, Mikasa was a large-lot manufacturer that used the term “fine bone china” on everything.
