DOULTON BUNNYKINS Q & A
i have a royal doulton plate and need advice?
this plate is a 1936 bunnykins royal doulton 3 segmant plate it is cream in colour and each segmant has a bunny rabbit scenei need to know what it is called also does any one have any idea on its value or where i can find out
Sothebys in London can value it for you, but two warnings: they can be snooty, and they can also break things before auction, so get a good reserve price. I had a 15th century bowl which I had to sell to get some money, and it was absolutely flawless. Sothebys had it for two days and it got dropped, but at least I got the reserve price (and a sort of apology). I remember the man in front of me in the queue, and he was getting some Old Dutch tiles valued, and the woman valuing them gave him a price, but also said, ‘But they’re not really very nice, are they?’ I thought that was a matter of opinion, and that she should keep her opinion to herself. So be prepared. Or try Christies or Bonhams.
